The Many Sides of You

I believe that it is important to embrace all sides of you. To deny any part of you is to deny all of you. There is the happy side of you, the sexy side of you, the fun side of you, the adventurous side of you, the explorer, the student, the teacher, etc.

Each new situation births the opportunity for you to express a new side of yourself allowing you to know yourself deeper.

When I step back and look at the many sides of me I am totally humbled at the gift of life itself. The evolution of one’s life can be fascinating. Embracing the different sides of you allows you to grow and develop, it allows you to understand others as well. If you feel like you are stuck in a pattern that limits your happiness, well-being and growth dig deep and push through

Here is a Daisy Tip:*big smile: wear pink!! that will definitely get you out of your groove… and if you’re too hyped… tone it down with black for a week… and let others see the ‘mysterious side of you.

Daisy Says: Embrace all sides of you!

The Light Within

If there’s light in the soul
There’ll be beauty in the person.

If there’s beauty in the person
There’ll be harmony in the house.

If there’s harmony in the house
There will be order in the nation.

If there’s order in the nation
There’ll be peace in the world. ~
Chinese Proverb

Madonna - Ray Of Light - Madonna

In the spanish caribbean island a woman that is giving birth is referred to as ‘a woman giving light’, I’m always caught in quite contemplation when I see a pregnant woman and am humbled how in our spanish culture we acknowledge the light a woman carries in her womb.

If we could only continue to carry that same observation and see each other’s light in the world we would expand all that is good, for there is such good in our world. Even Abraham Lincoln our sixteenth president said: I am not bound to succeed, but I am bound to live up to the light that I have.

Remember that you are light, and the light never goes out it only diminishes if you ignore it. When you choose to seek your light and live your light you will nurture the flame into a living breathing fire which is YOU. Teachers and guides will always come and go, but the knowledge that you learn from life will serve to nourish your light so long as you allow yourself to be inspired by the world around you.

Daisy Says: Allow your light to guide you.

Catch The Butterfly

Do you know that everyone is focused at any one time? Perhaps many would like to believe that they are multi-taskers when in fact they are doing one thing at a time. Sure you can walk, be on the phone and hold your cup of coffee… but your mind will latch on to one thought at a time.

It’s like looking at your computer screen, while you’re looking at it, everything else goes out of focus, because you are giving attention at the screen. That which you focus on grows, this is the basic core of what most refer to the law of attraction. If you’re too busy looking at your ‘problems’ (which I normally like to call challenges), then you don’t have much time to see the solutions even if they were in front of you.

What you focus on grows.

Scattered thoughts don’t allow you to move forward very fast, they’re like having sticks thrown at your feet. If you have a gazillion thoughts running through your mind at one time and would like to begin experiencing clarity, an exercise that I find handy is what I call: Catch the butterfly. See yourself in the pool of thoughts in your head walking around with a butterfly net, catch a thought and see how long you can hold it. The longer you hold it the clearer it will become because now you can look in the net and inspect it. When you’re done let it go and watch it flutter away.

Don’t be surprised if you find yourself more peaceful and pleasant to be around with.

Daisy Says: Begin to experience the power of one thought.

Walking Mirrors

mirror

When you say the word ‘mirror’ most people immediately vision a reflective surface upon which they can see their image, those mirrors can come in different shapes and with different ornaments around them.

What many of us fail to appreciate are the walking mirrors in our lives: our family, friends, co-workers and strangers.

Just as we go through a metamorphism with our physical image so does this transformation take place with our persona image. Even our self-image tends to be off by some degree from our own or others reality. We may imagine ourselves to be outgoing, shy, smart, caring etc.

It is not easy to accept what we see being reflected back to us, it is much easier to see what we expect to see and overlook that which we don’t like. It’s just human nature.

Our greatest teachers are those around us that push our buttons; they serve as mirrors and teach us what we need to work on the most. Seeing what we don’t like in others allows us to reflect deep within ourselves to find those same
qualities within ourselves and move towards change.

Have you ever had that inner comment when you observe someone that irritates you: “what a jerk”. Why would it bother you? Perhaps because others allow us to see our short comings even more clearly.

Our inner circle of family, friends and co-workers are the best mirrors, we can’t just pick them up and throw them on the wall as to shatter them. Avoiding the mirrors in your life won’t make things any better for you there is usually a bigger mirror waiting around the bend, giving you another opportunity to take inventory of yourself.

Looking at our walking mirrors and embracing the opportunity for self-growth we take baby steps towards healing our inner self, and as we transform within so do our mirrors. People come and go from our lives giving us an opportunity to glimpse at our own transformation.

Daisy Says: Embrace the mirrors in your life.

The Energy Bus

energybus

I was visiting my friend Lee over the weekend and I noticed a golden yellow book by his table side. Within a few minutes I was captivated by the story inside. Jon Gordon put together 10 rules to fuel your life, work and team with positive energy, and he did this very cleverly using the analogy of a bus.

Easy, fun to read book that can help you bring clarity to your life and set a new course.

The first rule he started with was: You are the driver of your bus.

Sometimes in life we fail to see that we are living someone elses dreams and goals, or that our purpose to achieve something truly does not come from something inside but more to prove to others that we can do it. I believe that it is important for each one of us to realize that we are the driver of our bus. That is a great place to start!

Perhaps you may find yourself frustrated that you work so hard to achieve something — think on this: If someone else is driving your bus… then arriving at your destination will be much longer… or harder.

Daisy Says: Get in the driver’s seat!
