Here’s a little pre- Halloween treat for you my darling Net friends… a little Halloween story for the little ones and a little dark poetry for my big ones.
BY E. A. POE, ESQ.
By good angels tenanted,
Once a fair and stately palace —
Snow-white palace — reared its head.
In the monarch thought’s dominion —
It stood there!
Never Seraph spread his pinion
Over fabric half so fair.
On its roof did float and flow —
This — all this — was in the olden
Time long ago —
And every gentle air that dallied,
In that sweet day,
Along the rampart plumed and pallid,
A winged odour went away.
Through two luminous windows saw
Spirits moving musically
To a lute’s well tuned law,
Round about a throne where sitting
(Porphyrogene!)
In state his glory well befitting,
The sovereign of the realm was seen.
Was the fair palace door ;
Through which came flowing, flowing, flowing,
And sparkling evermore,
A troop of echoes, whose sweet duty
Was but to sing
In voices of surpassing beauty,
The wit and wisdom of their king.
Assailed the monarch’s high estate!
Ah, let us mourn — for never morrow
Shall dawn upon him desolate!
And round about his home the glory,
That blushed and bloomed,
Is but a dim-remembered story
Of the old time entombed.
Through the red-litten windows, see
Vast forms that move fantastically
To a discordant melody;
While, like a rapid ghastly river,
Through the pale door;
A hideous throng rush out forever,
And laugh — but smile no more.

To have a friend is to have one of the sweetest gifts that life can bring; to be a friend is to have a solemn and tender education of the soul from day to day. – Amy Robertson
Having a friend is special. Yet being a friend is the gift to oneself, it will teach us to grow as we give of our time to another being; listening to their woes, cheering their victories and genuinely loving that person from the inside.

Some people may think that peer pressure is something that just happens to teenagers. In fact all of society is a big bully wanting you to conform.
My young teenage son Geordan is just beginning to see society’s mean streak. He came home with the “lunch room” experience. He tells me that there is this ‘click’ of kids that will talk to him in class (ya, right…cause Geordan takes time to study and will help them) and then when he goes to sit with them at their lunch table they ask him to leave…that ‘he is not welcomed’.
My son likes to make sure his clothes are pressed, his hair is groomed and really does not like cursing …he says it limits the mind in seeking the right word to express the true feeling, his taste in music is rather eclectic and really loves family activities; so…he meets with the opposite and feels there are not others like him. I tell him… let your light shine despite of the darkness.
I told my son that I deal with that as an adult, and that others want me to conform to them and I am not ready to sink to the dark abyss of others. I came here to be an expression of my own life, to vibrate and resonate my positve life force with our planet, I came here to be an expression of love, beyond that how I dress, what I look like is meaningless.

This weekend my family and friends decided we’d have a ‘Halloween’ experience and took our kids out to the Universal Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando.
As we walked through the park to get to the haunted houses, they had scary clowns as well as characters wheeling loud chain saws walking around scarying people…or at least trying to. What I liked the most… the fog effect.
Ask me if I’d go there again… NOT! The lines we so long… that by the time I had a chance to experience the ‘haunted house’ the anticipation of the fear factor was gone…and I was more irritated than anything else. One of the lines had a 2 hour waiting, so… my tip off … show up and get the parking out of the way before gate opens…you will get lucky if you get to experience 2 or 3 of the ‘haunted houses’. I only had a shot at 2; I got into the park I’d say around 8′ish and the park closed at 2:00 am.
A party that was able to walk through the gates at 6:30 pm said they were able to go through 6 of the haunted houses. Universal Studios had some of the less thrilling rides open to lighten up on the lines, but the people were there for the halloween thrill and so not many people were getting on the rides. Universal Studios did make a killing on the jello shots, the beer, the silly flahshing necklaces as well as all the other Universal propaganda.
If you do plan on going… get through the gates at opening time, you’ll lose an hour or two trying to park… bring a rowdy crowd with you so you can just scare each other and have fun while you wait in the lines.
