Everything I need to know about life, I learned from Noah’s Ark…

  • One : Don’t miss the boat.
  • Two : Remember that we are all in the same boat. ~ same planet.
  • Three : Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the Ark.
  • Four : Stay fit. When you’re 600 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
  • Five : Don’t listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
  • Six : Build your future on high ground.
  • Seven : For safety sake, travel in pairs! !
  • Eight : Speed isn’t always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
  • Nine : When you’re stressed, float a while.
  • Ten : Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
  • Eleven : No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting.

Daisy Says: It’s good to plan ahead.

Letting Go

This morning I had the most wonderful surprise when I received an unexpected phone call from my good friend and a deal lady in my life belly dance instructor, Kamila. I was under her tutorship for over three years and have not seen her in over 2 years… so to say that it was a surprise is an understatement.

We enjoyed talking of the old times and the exciting uncertain future ahead which lead to the topic of the mortgage industry and the housing market and she was concerned for me regarding business. I just told her that I am so devastated trying to figure out how I can possible help all these people that are going into foreclosure! How can you possibly help people that were put into a loan program just to get them into a house that they can’t afford two years later?! To add to the injury the property values are dropping and will continue to drop until the market adjust… until then, how am I to help people from losing their home?

Yes, frustrating … but I know that with my good intention and true desire, I will find a way. Yet it was a statement that Kamila said that got me blogging on the topic of ‘letting go’. Kamila is a very beautiful spiritual soul and she said that possibly at a subconscious level society (… I may have to add, at a national level) has a lesson to learn regarding ‘letting go’. She said, “If it’s broke, let it go”.

Let’s take it further, perhaps the lesson is not so much on ‘letting go’, but perhaps on accepting ourselves. Understanding that if our financial budget dictates that we drive a certain car and live in a certain home…then, we need to be responsible and accept our current situation. Not to say that we can’t ‘Think Big’ and ‘Dream Big’… but all that big thinking and dreaming must be accompanied with a goal and a plan.

My observations lead me to believe that people want things Now, and are not willing to Pay the price for those wants. Some how, the esoteric universal laws demand a price, whether it be knowledge, time, money etc. we need to stop this instant microwave mentality and connect with the true values of our inner self.

Daisy Says: Let go and celebrate the possibilities.

Truth

The Truth, is The Gift

You are where you are…and that is where you start.

Take a few minutes today and look back at your year… make a Thank you list of all the things
that you DID accomplish and be proud of those victories.

Feel the strength that is achieved from a job accomplished. Yes, you deserve it. You are were
you are and that is a great place to start.

Look onward to your dream horizon and fuel it with passion, energize your future with the power of life. Now, you have a great starting point for your new goals and get rid of the old goals that no longer inspire you to action. Your goals are your written words… honor yourself.

Daisy Says: In your thoughts be True, let it pour out from within.

Clear Goal

Goals

We hear this all the time: Write down your goals.

Yet, many of us believe that if we have our ideas, wants and goals implanted in our mind that we really are going to have the structured plan to achieve them.

Ever run a marathon? Well, I have… and I was contemplating on the topics of goal setting and running a marathon. Imagine running a 25 mile marathon and not having a finish line? … I wouldn’t be sitting here sharing my thoughts, I’d still be running ‘endlessly’ awaiting to cross the line with every quarter mile. Or worse yet, I would have tired out and quit because of the mere exhaustion of the endless journey without a final purpose or victory dance.

Yes, that’s what an unwritten goal is like, an endless frustrating undefined journey.

Take time to write down your dreams, wants and goals. Then write out in clearly defined steps what actions would have to take place to acheive them and in what time frame do you think they can be accomplished. You will soon find that perhaps you may not want to embark on those goals, you may discover that you no longer have the same passion to pursue them. Why hold on to dreams that have no meaning to you? It’s like having clothes in your closet that you will never wear. Better yet, you actually enjoy the clarity of the pursuit and move onward with joy and passion.

Daisy Says: De-clutter your goal closet and re-discover your journey.

Press On

Leaders through-out history have left us clues for us to use to succeed, the challenge lies in each and everyone of us to develop the mental toughness and habits necessary to succeed.

President John Calvin Coolidge is the source of this widely quoted insight:

‘Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent.
Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts.
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.’

If you want to get ahead in your work place… this means come in a little early and stay a little late, give more than you receive.

I have found that persistence is the key. Just keep hammering away. After some period of time, you will become an expert. How much time? If we are talking about an eight-hour day, a little under three years, about 5,000 hours.

Devote that extra hour a day, and in five years, you will stand out – you will be successful not only at your company level but you will stand out as an industry expert by those in your community. In 10 years, you will be a master.

Remember that you must apply what you learn in order to become effective and to become a master you must teach others what you learn.

Daisy Says: Persist.
