“Teamwork is a make or break situation. Either you help make it or the lack of it will break you.” – Kris A. Hiatt

Team building is my goal for 2008, in my branch I mentor over 2,000 people and this topic is dear to me… hope you enjoy. Teamwork is very important to me.

The purpose of assembling a team is to accomplish bigger goals than any that would be possible for the individual working alone. The aim and purpose of a team is to perform, get results and achieve victory in the workplace and marketplace.

Here are ten key differentials to help you mould your people into a pro-active and productive team.

Understandings. In a team, members recognise their independence and understand both personal and team goals are best accomplished with mutual support. Time is not wasted struggling over “Turf” or attempting personal gain at the expense of others.

Ownership. In a team, members feel a sense of ownership for their jobs and unit, because they are committed to values based common goals that they helped establish.

Creativity and Contribution. In a team, members contribute to the organisation’s success by applying their unique talents, knowledge and creativity to team objectives.

Trust. In a team, members work in a climate of trust and are encouraged to openly express ideas, opinions, disagreements and feelings. Questions are welcomed.

Common Understandings. In a team, members practice open and honest communication. They make an effort to understand each other’s point of view.

Personal Development. In a team, members are encouraged to continually develop skills and apply what they learn on the job. They perceive they have the support of the team.

Are You In Sales?

Sales

Have you heard the statment? All men (women) are created equal? Let me tell you, in sales that’s not true.

Let me briefly explain. If you are in sales, you will know in the first 48 hours if you have what it takes to deal with your inequities. There is no magic wand or secret potion. No one is going to hand you a pot of gold. He or she just isn’t.

And you know what? You don’t need anything. As I look back over my own personal growth, all I see is ONE thing. Unfoldment. I’m unfolding from within.

It’s about getting through all the fog from your past and being willint to step into your greatness, the real you. Stepping into your own personal clarity and power.

Be brave and allow the experiences from your sales help UNLOCK you.

All progress of the individual is a matter of unlocking the inner you. Life moves from within, outwards. The growth of a tree, starts with contents of a seed it’s inner supply.

Sales pays big… it does not require intelligence, it requires a willingness to develop the skills necessary to become a better communicator, a better listener and knowing how to offer a solution to someones concerns.

Daisy Says: Be committed to your greatness.

Run Your Own Race

Run your own race. Ask yourself: “Am I running my race or someone else’s?”

How many times do we judge our success or our failure by what others have done?

Choose to be a thoroughbred. When thoroughbreds run they wear blinders to keep their eyes focused straight ahead with no distractions. They hear the crowd but they don’t listen. They just run their own race.

We must do the same thing. Don’t listen to anyone comparing you to anyone else. You just run your own race.

Daisy Says: Stumble if you must until you find your pace and just keep you will always win if keep running!
