TRICK OR TREAT!!

SMELL MY FEET, GIVE ME SOMETHING GOOD TO EAT.

~~ My favorite Halloween treats: snickers and mounds

What is your favorite Halloween Treat?

The history of “Trick’O'Treating can be traced back to the early celebrations of All Soul’s Day in Britain. The poor would go begging and the housewives would give them special treats called “soulcakes”. This was called “going a-souling”, and the “soulers” would promise to say a prayer for the dead.

Over time the custom changed and the town’s children became the beggars. As they went from house to house they would be given apples, buns, and money.

During the Pioneer days of the American West, the housewives would give the children candy to keep from being tricked. The children would shout “Trick or Treat!”.

Trick or treat, you’re so neat.
Give me something good to eat.
Nuts and candy, fruit and gum.
I’ll go away if you give me some.

Within the soul of every man

Within the spark of every light

There is a flame ready to ignite

Beyond all space

Beyond all bounds

When thunder strikes

When earth tremors

The magic of inspiration rises

From spatial ether

From eons past

To move the soul and rise above

All fear

All doubt

The call to be

No more

No less

In the moment of inspiration

You are the pure

Essence of life itself

The Importance of Our Values

We all have different values; you know… those things that really matter to each of us. Ideas and beliefs we hold special.

Most of us learned our values at home, church or synagogue, and at school. We learned from parents, teachers and religious leaders. In today’s culture many of our young people are most influenced by what they see and hear on television, and in most cases if the values were not strongly adapted from family they will acquire values from their peers.

Developing values in the concepts of being – trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, reverent – can become an integral part of how we do things and interact in everyday situations.

I remember back when I was a little girl, my mom would talk about how she admired American Customer Service, and now decades later… I know most of us have a lot to desire about our own customer service. The simplicity of having someone being courteous and polite. What happened to the values that guided this nation to greatness?

I believe that each and everyone can make a difference by upholding our basic values. It is through our purposeful interactions within our environments that we share our values with others and pass them on as well.

What three values do you cherish the most?

Daisy Says: Our thoughts and behavior drive your values.

Just had to share this picture I took at the Publix Market in my town. A bunch of skeletons drinking beer and shooting pool. Just gotta love them Halloween decorations!

Too funny… is it a sign of the economy? I mean, these bones are in a food market and their starving! HAHAHA!
