captain-obvious-4-mind-your-own-business-finished
Last weekend I was babying a cold and elected to put my phones off line which allowed me to get much needed rest, plus enjoy a very quiet weekend. When Monday came around… it was like an explosion, a whole new story… phone lines were up and all kinds of woes and issues were being dumped.

It’s amazing what a wonderful life you can have when you are not infected with other people’s version of events, which leads me into today’s musings: Mind Your Own Business. (MYOB)

It never ceases to amaze me at how often many people poke into the business of others and want to orchestrate other peoples lives.

Probably like most of you, I analyze things from the perspective of my life. I feel that I have enough in dealing with going (growing) through my own daily issues and if I stay focused on self improvement and focusing on my task not only will I help myself but in that process become one less burden on society and help those around me.

Yet it must be societies voyeuristic approach that keeps some people in other people’s business. There are some people that feel like they must impose their values and beliefs without taking into consideration the free will of other people. Yet, they want those same liberties offered to them and will balk if anyone tells them how things must get done.

The one incident that came to mind was about one person complaining why a mother she knew would even allow her daughter body piercing… and because the mother did not stand up against the daughter now the friendship is being tested.

Don’t lose a friendship because of over meddling:

1. Try not to butt in.
2. Ask yourself: “Does this concern me?” If what someone else is doing is going to somehow affect you in anyway, then it does concern you.
3. If you figure out that the issues does not concern you, then simply walk away.
4. Keep in mind, most people just want to vent, be a friend and listen.

Daisy Says: Till the soil in your backyard and you will have a wonderful garden.

Choice of feelings

Life becomes empowering when you become aware that you are responsible for your OWN feelings. You are the master creator of your feelings.

Choosing to control your feelings in a positive and purposeful way, you can profoundly change your life for the better. When you chose to blame others for your feelings, what you are really doing is giving that person control over an important part of your life.

You probably have heard others say: “you make me mad” or “you make me happy”
… makes you sound like other peoples puppet.

The way you feel can affect every aspect of your life. Choose to take a positive stand when it comes to your feelings and you will begin to feel powerful and influential — yes your choice of energizing yourself with positive feelings can influence the energy around you.

Each feeling that you experience is a feeling you have chosen.

We can all agree that much of what comes our way is beyond our control, one thing is clear..the way we feel about what happens in our lives is completely up to us!

Daisy Says: Choose your feelings wisely, and you will discover the richness of your life.

Every now and then people send me a little humor… and this one I felt noteworthy to share with you.

Here is a little office humor for those that have to deal with the nine to five grind:

Dress Code: *
1) You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.

2) If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.

3) If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.

4) If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise. *

Sick Days: *
We will no longer accept a doctor’s statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work. *

Personal Days: *
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year.
They are called Saturdays & Sundays. *

Bereavement Leave: *
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend the funeral arrangements in your place. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early. *

Bathroom Breaks: *
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet.
There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, a n alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the ‘Chronic Offenders’ category. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sectioned under the company’s mental health policy. *

Lunch Break: *
* Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy.

* Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.

* Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that’s all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Thank you for your loyalty to our company.

Daisy Says: Humor allows you to laugh at your life and discover your real face, a happy smiley.

vulture
I was driving down one of our local streets here in Florida, when lo and behold right in the middle of a two lane road — right there next to the painted divider line stood a vulture having lunch.

I was so amazed at how this creature refused to be intimidated by traffic. I slowed down to watch what the other cars were doing…and literally they were slowing down as to not hit the bird… but the bird just kept his eyes on his goal: pecking at lunch, and obviously he was not to be disturbed.

I was in such total admiration for the focus of that bird that I had to drive around and take a picture (it’s not pretty clear but you can see that the cars had to move onto the other available lanes to keep moving onward).

Daisy Says: Life is expressed in the attitude of that vulture: Stand your ground and as you do, you will fulfill your purpose and inspire others along the way.
