My friend Paul, invited me to attend a seminar of one of his mentors that happened to be down here in Florida. Of course I got to thinking today about what is it that people want?

I was definitely surprised that for all the boasting, I expected a bit more pizazz. I mean, there were claims that the speaker was worth over 500 million. (question is.. 500 million what?) I looked around at the venue location, it was hosted at the Holiday Inn down by International Drive in Orlando Florida. Then I looked around at the people attending (it was the over 50 crowd)…and short of my 3 companions there were only 10 attendees.

The curiosity of the claim lead me to do a little research… oh.. you thought he was worth over 500 million dollars? No… they never finished the sentence.. 500 million in sales. Well the point here has nothing to do with the speaker, nor the location but has more to do with: What are people looking for? People are looking for an opportunity.

As I contemplated more on: People looking for opportunity, I began to admire those that create the opportunities. Wow.. they’ve got to be in demand!!?

When crisis and change come together, you have found the perfect mix for OPPORTUNITY!
New needs begin to arise out of new problems which in turn opens the door to those with the creative mind to fill those needs.

To create opportunities you must be willing to step out of your backyard, talk to more people, be willing to take risks and learn from your mistakes, establish systems that offer solutions and then — yes.. and then offer it to those looking for opportunity.

The more you learn and apply, the more experience you’ll gain and this in turn will prepare you for more opportunities.

9-11
My dear online friend Jon, sent me a reminder of what he was doing on 9-11-2001

interesting to go back to that dreadful morning and recall the empty and dismay of what I was witnessing on television. An attack on America.

Many peoples lives were changed on that dreadful morning, yet America is valiant and brave as it attempts to maintain the freedoms that so many people come to her to seek and enjoy.

My prayers to all the families who have been short changed their earth plane journey with their loved ones.
Godspeed.

Most of us don’t remember the headliners of yesterday nor do we know who are the five wealthiest people in the world, who the last Heisman trophy winners were, who where the last five winners of the Miss America contest or the last 10 winners of the Pulitzer or Nobel prize.

These people are no second-rate achievers; they are the best in their fields. The applause dies, their awards become tarnished, and with time their achievements are forgotten.

“Peanuts” creator, Charles Schultz once wrote that the people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. People who make the most difference to you are the ones that showed you they cared.

It is much easier to remember the teacher that helped you through your journey in school, to remember three friends that helped you through difficult times, five people that shared something worthwhile, you can think of a few people that made you feel special and appreciated and you can think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

I chose the “Peanut” gang because at this time in my life I am blessed to be surrounded with a great group of people that have such varied talents and skills, they have a sense of responsibility yet being with them reminds me of being a kid and adventuring through unknown fields with intense curiosity as we approach uncharted grounds. I admire them most for their golden heart to care for others, this caring is not something that they talk about, it is something that it is expressed in their actions.

Live life for “You”, take time to care for you, for what you think, for making your garden beautiful and you will find that the “caring” will spill over into other parts of your life.

Your Choices lead you to Your Experiences – Happy Labor Day

Any one can take a journey into the future quite simply by analyzing the choices they made today.

When you’re passionate about the things you do, life turns into a song. No challenge is insurmountable, obstacles become simply things you need to figure out to get to your destination.

…and what is that destination? The destination doesn’t matter when the Why is very clear.

It doesn’t matter if you run a night club or a hair salon or even drive a taxi – the most important thing is to love what you do and the why will reveal itself.

I find that the doing is not as important as the why of what I’m doing. I have also concluded that the why of what I do always takes me to the same destination: people.

People…
people to love through my stories, my goodwill, people to serve, and people to share my life with.

My destination today takes me to serenity – Happy Labor Day.

Daisy Says: Destination becomes the being and the doing and life is simply the song.
