The Importance of Questions

Would you like to get the most out of your life experience?
Your life is a quest. To embark on a quest it is important to ask questions.

Why would you embark on the most incredible and important quest … which is your life… without asking yourself questions?!

Start today to ask yourself:
1. Why you do what you do
2. What you want to get from this life experience
3. When will you take action to have the best life yet
4. How will you get started
5. Where do you plan this life to take you
6. Who will be there on your journey

Daisy Says: A quest begins with a question.

Life is so magical… it may seem that the future is so far away
yet the future is being held at the cusp of creation within each second of the present.

It seems like yesterday yet on paper it has been over 8 years since we bought a little piece of land about an acre and a half in the island. My grandfather was selling it… times were tough and I’ve always wanted to preserve a piece of my heritage and memories of my rich childhood growing up in the island.

With determination and great sacrifice we were able to purchase the land and make that dream a reality.
The land sat quietly overlooking the mountain with each passing season the rains came and went; nearly a decade came and went and finally the opportunity of creation came around again. What to do with the land.

Mom and dad finally retired back to the island and it was on one of my visits that it occurred to me of how wonderful it would be to have a pavilion; a place to spend the day, have a barbecue, play music, feel the breeze come down from the mountain and sit by the watering hole.

The greatest joy has been watching my mom and dad play and run around town pricing materials and meeting with people, it has helped them in gradually getting to know their community and the day to day swing of the island. For me, it brings me such joy to see them living life without the stress.

Dreams are to be pursued with patience and conviction..

One way that I love kicking off the fall season is by spending the day at a corn maze. I was so delighted to discover Long and Scott’s Farm up in Zellwood Florida; since 2003 they’ve been putting together a wonderful ‘maize’ maze adventure!

It was really fun to introduce my friends to the joy of walking through a corn maze.

Geordan found a map on the inside

A maze is like a puzzle to be solved. It has twists, turns, and blind alleys. Just like life… it has twists turns and blind alleys. Sometimes you get lost and other times being lost does not feel like being lost and before you know it… you begin to enjoy your surroundings and your journey.

Scotts Maze 2009

With a maze — many choices must be made; an active mind is needed to solve the problem of finding the center. You’ll have many paths to choose from, some with many entrances and exits. You’ll run into dead ends which will offer you riddles to be solved.

Mazes challenge the choice-making part of ourselves. In life we are presented with many choices… usually the choice of action or in-action. We must have an active mind to solve the issues as they arise. On occasion things don’t go our way and we must look at the circumstances and find alternate ways to reach our objective.

Common features in most mazes are trick corners and blind alleys. In all mazes – the object is to find your way through the elaborately twisted paths to reach a specific goal. Life is full of challenges, yet it is upon us to maintain our focus and persevere towards our goal.

“Your life is a sacred journey. And it is about change, growth, discovery, movement, transformation, continuously expanding your vision of what is possible, stretching your soul, learning to see clearly and deeply, listening to your intuition, taking courageous challenges at every step along the way. You are on the path… exactly where you are meant to be right now… And from here, you can only go forward, shaping your life story into a magnificent tale of triumph, of healing of courage, of beauty, of wisdom, of power, of dignity, and of love.” Caroline Adams

Daisy Says: Begin your sacred journey today.

Awakened by the distant sound of a roosters call brought me to my senses as I shifted between the fresh sheets in my mothers house. The morning light gave the room a celestial glow adding to the warm feeling of being back home.

As my parents now cross over the 60′s threshold I too cross another stage of life with them. Choosing to understand them. It is a decision based on love, gratitude and compassion. All relationships must be nourished and that nourishment comes with investing time. Time.

I spent the next three days listening, talking, laughing and sharing with my parents. We made plans to start construction of the outdoor room. This project is truly a gift of Love from me to them; it’s giving them a reason to travel around town and meet with people. I even taught belly dance to my moms friends, it was delightful and fun: Habibi!

smyrna beach florida

Ocean spray, white sandy beach, seagulls gliding gently overhead… just got back from a serene walk at Smyrna Beach, FL.

One of the things that I found so interesting … that unlike many of the South Florida beaches, in Smyrna Beach you can actually drive your car on the beach and pick a spot for the day.

Area Info: Blue skies meet over 13 miles of white sand in New Smyrna Beach, historical and cultural sites also make New Smyrna Beach noteworthy: the Turnbull and Sugar Mill Ruins, the Eldora State House and the Ponce Inlet lighthouse.

Daisy Says: Happy Sunday.
