Silent Thunder

I traveled on a long journey…consumed in my own world . On a spread of long highway…I observed the scenes of flat lands and fast moving cars roll past me. The tires humming its sweet music of spinning motion under me..the sky churning gray dark clouds as the west sun descended. Then from dusk to evening the scenery did change…and in an instant the clouds consumed the dark heavens it arranged.

From East to West did a zig-zagging flash adorn the skies…not once, twice but what seemed an eternity…and I driving to it.

Not a sound. Yet the sky would light with the zig-zagging flare. Not a sound was heard…from all corners nor beyond.

She came and proclaimed her presence through her majestic flare…Not a Sound did I hear ..though I did drive with fear. Fear, did I say? Not a sound I heard. Then the rain did come down, first in droplets then it just poured. I understood that it was not fear that I felt …I was just in Awe. The blessings I gave to our beautiful Earth…the blessings of Rain I too received.

But most is the messge of Presence that speaks in silence and cares for us all. It is in silence that we must act and our message will be seen..felt and heard in the heart.

Passion Living

I can’t imagine any other way to live but with Passion.

Movies are exciting because they have packed emotional passion into 90 minutes of show time. Yet, monotony explains the lives of many people. Boring. Dull. Uneventful. Ask people what’s going on in their lives and they say: S S D D. (same stuff different day)

I remember a phase that my son was going through back in Elementary School, one day he came home and he used the word ‘Boring’ in a sentence (I’m sure most parents have heard this too); he said, “mommy, I’m bored”. I blew my handle. I looked at him and explained to him the impact of his word and how he had made a declaration of his person. I said, “Geordan, if you ‘ARE’ bored no one will want to be around you – so rather say ‘I’m Excited!’ and you shall become that’. I can tell you 7 years later, ‘boring’ is not part of my son’s self expression.

We need to infuse passion into what we do, no matter how trivial the task is. I truly believe that by infusing Passion we transfer a magnetized energy that others feel and the moment becomes magical.

There are so many scenarios I can picture in my mind specially a story my dad told me about 2 brick layers.

Goes something like this: A man walks by a construction site and sees two brick layers at work, he approaches the first and asks: ‘Sir, may I ask, what are you doing?’, brick layer 1 responds, ‘Isn’t it obvious? can’t you see? I’m laying bricks!’
He then approaches the second brick layer and asks him the same question. At which time brick layer 2 answered, “Why sir, let me tell you what I’m doing. I am helping to erect a hospital, this will bring more jobs to the community and most important this will be a place of healing and recovery”.

I am sure that the patients healed faster in the area where brick layer 2 built because he infused his work with positive passion and goodwill.

Sometimes we get caught up in the daily routine that we forget the ‘reason’ why we do what we do and we lose the passion of what got us excited in the first place! It is at that delicate moment right before monotony sets in that we need to resell ourselves the dream and infuse passion into what we do.

Creating Space

Creating Space
Space is Sacred. Space is Individual.

I find that there is importance in creating a space for what ever your task is. Creating that Space can be a Sacred endeavor.

Just as the cook clears his/her space and moves with grace from point of preparation to point of presentation, by creating space we can do the same.

What ever it is you do, you need to create that space for you; that space does not have to be extravagant with all the bells and whistle.

I have several spaces that I make Sacred for me. One is my home office, I have the basic tools needed to operate and run my business: a table top for my P.C., Fax, Printer and Phone. Designated area for stationary and writing tools. A dream board of the goals and projects I’d like to accomplish. And a Calendar to track my action plan and activities on how I’d like to get there.

I have my Reading Zone. It’s a special place where I like to read and I’ve made it Sacred by surrounding that space with books, crystals, candles and incense that allow me to teleport into a special place while I absorb the written words.

It is important that once you designate a Space, do not clutter it with anything that conflicts with that space. This allows the energy of that Space to claim it’s Sacred strength and augment the generation of productive activity.

Life Phases

I was signing into my blog…and paused a bit to look at the pictures that I have selected on my blog page…: there I am in my police uniform, then there is a pic of me sky diving (awesome experience) then there is me holding a bouquet of flowers (I grabbed those from a friend of ours that had just wed and …that’s just like me, living in the moment – saw a photo op!), and then me preparing for my first presentation solo. My point? Phases. It’s amazing how many lives we can live in one lifetime.

Me the child, the young adult, the policewoman, the mom, the wife, the sister, the friend, the neighbor, the homemaker, the gardener, the poet, the painter, the mortgage broker, the trainer, the recruiter, the mentor, the oracle………but all along I have been the STUDENT. Everyone and every event has been my teacher.

As I look at those pictures and vision the future, I’m excited about the possibilities and awed what future wisdom tomorrow brings with the next Phase of my life.

Daisy Says: Change. We are such chameleons striving for stability in a world of constant change. Yet is is through change that we grow and stability is found.

One of my great ways to relax is to …Dance. The dance allows my spirit to soar and the music to live through me. For a few hours I am teleported to a place where all is Zen.
