When we begin to develop the habit to be aware of all that we can be grateful for the obstacles and challenges begin to appear meaningless in respect to the scope of the bounty of Life that we have before us.

Each one of us was given the same gift – 86,400 seconds in the day… how many of those seconds do you use to say “thank you”? Use a few of those seconds to reflect with a sense of appreciation on meaningful experiences you had during the day. You will be surprised at how many things we can find that are pleasing to us if we just take a moment to think about them.

As for myself, I am always grateful for the opportunity to serve.

The sound of wind chimes take me back to the little girl in me and remind me of lazy afternoons playing with my friends and family barbecues. Through all the laughter I could always here the familiar sweet sound of the wind chimes.

Wind chimes can have a soothing effect on the mind and body, it’s resonance and vibration of the sound can release stress and appease the soul.

I have a few chimes of different materials and each catches the wind differently making sweet sound around my home. The bamboo makes a woody sound while my metal pipes have a low resounding mellow echo.

What a splendid surprise!

She couldn’t have picked a better weekend to show herself, the ‘Fourth of July’. Her vibrant red colors pop up so bright in commemoration of a great day! She blazons my garden and it’s the first object of one’s attention.

The Blood Lily.

I love gardening, and among my favorites flowers are the bulbs; I love planting them randomly. Such an exciting surprise as the stem pops up and the bud of the bloom appears: what will it by an amaryllis? a rain lily? a blood lily? a hiacinth? so exciting!

Here are some tidbits if you want to grow this beautiful flower:
Blood lily is a beautiful flowering bulb from tropical Africa. The spectacular flowerhead is a huge spherical umbel consisting of up to 100 flowers, held clear of the foliage at the end of a solitary stem. Each plant will produce only one flowerhead in a season. The plant may live for many years and will flower annually indoors. During the growing season the plant needs bright light, if possible direct sunshine for two hours daily.

HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Every day is Earth Day, but if for some reason you’ve become caught up with ’stuff’ take a few moments to send her some Love. One of our New Year’s resolution as a family, was to show Earth some Love and we began to compost our organic waste.

Becoming aware of my consumption has heightened my appreciation for Our planet and how She serves us. Come, share with me… what do you do on a daily basis to show Earth some Love?
