2008 had an interesting start, every day awakening to a new canvass a new opportunity to create a masterpiece for the day.

As we headed towards the middle of the year more and more people were losing homes to foreclosure. Many good families were facing uncertainty with loss of job, less hours and illness – unfortunately falling victim to the economic crisis plaguing 2008. Many good and hard working people facing their day in quiet desperation not knowing how to climb out of the depth of situation they find themselves in.

The Helpful Hands Foundation has been one of the best journeys I have had the pleasure to experience, it is wonderful to be a part of the solution and show others that there are ‘helpful hands’ and caring hearts still out here in the world.

To our wonderful Helpful Hands Foundation Family: Thank you for all you do!

To my Oriental friends: Happy New Year! Together let’s welcome the challenges of the New Year!

According to the Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2008 is a Year of the Rat (Earth), which begins on February 7, 2008 and ends on January 25, 2009. First in the cycle of 12 Animal signs, Rat Year begins the sequence and recurs every twelfth year

Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity, and renewal. This is a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start. Ventures begun now may not yield fast returns, but opportunities will come for people who are well prepared and resourceful. The best way for you to succeed is to be patient, let things develop slowly, and make the most of every opening you can find.

In Chinese, the Rat is respected and considered a courageous, enterprising person. People born in the Year of Rat are clever and bright, sociable and family-minded. They have broad interests and strong ability in adapting to the environment and able to react adequately to any changes.

Resolutions… turning the leaf to a new direction… and making your GOALS into a series of simple PLANS. Okay….it does take work, but don’t worry planning is simple.

Keep it simple. I know you can, I am here with you.

Make your list of things you would like to accomplish, keep in mind that your job is simply to identify and isolate the top three goals right now that you most want to achieve, and eliminate the rest… you want to do this well before you take action.

You have heard it many times from some source or other: Work Your Plan, Plan Your Work. Working your plan means taking it one step at a time…

Every goal—regardless of how difficult—is nothing more than a series of steps that must be completed along a path, from one objective to another.

A written plan will include all of the critical steps, actions and objectives that must be met to make it a reality. Here are a few questions from thinktq.com to help you move your plans out of your HEAD and onto a sheet of PAPER.

These questions will help you shift your perspective, change your point of view, and invite specific action.

Print this out, take out your pen and invest a few moments to answer the following questions.

What’s the next objective on the path to this month’s goal?
_______________________________________________

Which of your most important goals needs a clearly defined, step-by-step path?
_______________________________________________

If your current project seems overwhelming, what’s the next step, however small, you could plan?
_______________________________________________

Should any of this month’s plans be divided up into smaller steps?
_______________________________________________

Which of your goals is in need of some intermediate steps?
_______________________________________________
