Happy Thanksgiving

It has been said that where attention goes energy flows. (or that which you focus on grows)

The same can be said for a bountiful life. Take a few minutes to focus on what is going right in your life.

When I did this simple exercise I began noticing how much was going right, I have health and joy, the love of family and friends, a warm bed, a happy heart, a purposeful life and the opportunity to be of service to others.

When you focus on what is good and what is going right, you’ll discover you are living a bountiful life.

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, till it seems as though you could not hang on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn. -Harriet Beecher Stowe-

Discipline & Self-Control

Discipline and Self Control are tools to achieve goals and accomplish dreams.

We can experience the best this life has to offer through discipline and self control. The fruit of the spirit is self control, making the choice to pay the price of discipline and not just do what we feel.

Most often than not people are out of control in their spending, in their emotions, in their eating, in their attitudes, lazy, not taking charge in their life.

Take charge and be in control, be disciplined, have a plan and stick to your plan.

Each and everyone has the ability to take charge of their life through discipline and self control. Just like a muscle the more you develop discipline and self control the easier it will be to exercise discipline and self control at crucial decision making moments in your life.

Every time we take the easy way out we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to exercise discipline and self control. Many don’t want to pay the price that is required of discipline and self control. The challenge is to do what is right even if it is going to inconvenience you and make you feel uncomfortable; rest assured that discipline will produce great rewards.

There are two kinds of pain, the pain of discipline and the pain of regret. The price of discipline is far less to pay then the price of regrets. It’s painful to look back and see how you’ve wasted weeks or months just because you were not willing to pay the price to exercise self control and discipline.

Discipline ensures you a bright tomorrow.

Discipline in finance allows you to enjoy a more bountiful life
Discipline in eating habits allows you to enjoy a healthier life
Discipline in controlling negative thoughts allows you to enjoy a happier life

Just like it takes time to form bad habits it takes time to form good habits.

Discipline and self-control means we need to stay the course despite how uncomfortable we may feel as we reign in the temptation to do otherwise.

Daisy Says: Self discipline is the dividing line between mediocrity and excellence.

Your Habit, Your Life

There is a well kept secret in life: It’s just as easy to get into a “good” habit as it is to get into a “bad” habit.

What ever you put your mind to is just a matter of choice.

You can spend your time doing the things that will bring you closer to your goals, or you can spend your time seeking immediate gratification.

Success in anything that you want to achieve can be summed up to: make a habit of doing those things that you need to do. Make the choice, develop the discipline, repeat it long enough and it will be come a habit.

Daily evaluation will prove to you that life is the result of choices. You are where you are because of the choices you made.

Your future depends on the choices you make today. You can choose go for a walk around the block, or you can choose sit and watch T.V. You can choose to act on an opportunity, or you can choose to sleep in late.

The potential of a great life can be found in the choices and habits you’ve embraced.

Addicted to the Struggle

Let me start by saying: EVERYONE DESERVES TO HAVE FUN

Do you feel like you keep moving forward but are still in the same place? Well I think, it’s time to take a step back and then ask yourself—Am I addicted to the struggle?

I think that we sometimes work harder when we need to work smarter. Working harder it seems that we keep doing more and more of the same…..and thinking that we are going to get a different result–which is, by the way, also the definition of insanity.

I was raised to value hard work and that anything worth achieving comes from hard work.

Perhaps you’ve heard the saying “work smarter, not harder.” I think most of us just got smarter at working harder. To me it seemed that “hard” was a good thing. Perhaps you did too?

When that happens I believe hard can become an addiction.

Perhaps we should focus on working smarter and look for the path of least resistance. Maybe we may need to change our own feelings and beliefs about the process that we are involved in.

So how can you tell that you are addicted to struggle? Here is a sure test… have you set a goal; had a hundred reasons why you can’t reach it, don’t reach it, and then create a bunch of excuses why that didn’t happen? okay.. you are addicted to the struggle.

Being addicted to struggle keeps us within our comfort zones. It is much easier to keep doing things the same old way than it is to change. Give it a try… and re-evaluate your beliefs, maybe it is time to celebrate the OUTCOME and not the effort. Believe that you deserve goodness, fun and relaxation!

Become a Person of Value

Albert Einstein once said “Don’t look to become a person of success, look instead to become a person of value.”

Read it again.

I’ve come to believe that value is the key component of progress.

Too many people are standing still and not doing enough to improve themselves, to make themselves more VALUABLE. Yet… they feel they are ENTITLED to reap the rewards just for merely ‘showing up’.

Have you thought about how much value you bring to your relationships, your job and yourself?

When was the last time you invested in yourself?

You can become a person of value by learning more. You can become a person of value by finding ways to help serve others.

One way to achieve your dreams is building yourself daily. Learn one new idea each day. Gain one insight from your mistake. Meet one new person.

Daisy Says: NEVER go to bed being the same person that you were when you woke up.
